Howdy all you language learners!
If you are nervous about your learning, don't be. If you are just thinking of practicing your English skills, don't wait! Why? Because even native English speakers learn new things about English.
Think for a minute. Do you know everything about your language? Probably not. There is always learning to do, so don't worry about making mistakes.
I learned a new Canadian East coast idiom just yesterday. I learned that in PEI (the home of the fictional character Anne of Green Gables) sushi is called 'seaweed pie'. How awesome is that!
Sushi = seaweed pie (in Prince Edward Island)
If you visit PEI, make sure to order some sushi (the coastal sushi is pretty good here in Canada), but maybe act like a local person and order sushi pie!
Keep collecting new vocabulary. You can do this by watching English movies or by listening to English music.
One great free podcast is called CBC Road Trip Radio. It is part truth and part funny lie. Get to know Canada one province at a time!
If you're confused about slang or idioms, we can fix that! Just send me a message and I can help.
Talk to you soon,
Matthew
